Max has always been interested in the Art of Studio Lighting, and especially lighting the nude form. He has in the past been invited by the Royal Photographic Society to give a days' lecture... and last year also by The Bristol Photographic Society on "Lighting the Nude". Here we have an excerpt from his lecture on Portrait lighting and how it can be translated to the Nude Form. All these images are straight from the camera shot tethered. They are unretouched to show the effect of basic lighting techniques using lights which are available in most starter kits or can be purchased quite economically from Auction sites. In most cases the camera was set to manual speed: 1/125 ISO: 100, Apertures: f8/f11... )except for the hot and daylight lighting systems. These techniques can be applied to all forms of lighting and form a base for exciting experimental art.
